Amazing HDR photography of Mike Savad

Isn't this an amazing picture? What is even more amazing is that it isn't a painting. It is indeed a photograph. Yesterday, by chance, I came across the work of a very talented photographer. Yes I do frequent the Zazzle website. This time, however, I wasn't looking for someone to promote. I was participating in a forum game. It is a picture association game. Find a picture on Zazzle somewhat related to the last one posted. In this case the last one posted was a pond scene. The obvious choice would have been a picture with water. There was also a bucket in the image so that is what I focused on. That is when I came across the amazing HDR Photography of Mike Savad. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.

Here is a description of HDR from Wikipedia. "In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminances between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wider dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight."

Not everyone uses this method for the same effect. Mike has used this effect to make many photos look like paintings. To me some have a dreamy ethereal appearance. Have I already said awesome? Have a look at some more of Mike Savad's artistry.

Funny BBQ Grill design for Father's Day and Summer Gifts

We are often told to minimize distractions when we work or study. However when you are trying to be creative a little background noise can be helpful. One night while I was thinking of my next design my grandfather decided to watch television. He quickly tired of it and went to bed leaving the tv on. I was going to turn it off but couldn't pull myself away from my work. Good thing. The Black Eyed Peas started singing a song I later identified as Clumsy. After several choruses of "The girl can't help it" this BBQ Grill idea popped into my head.

The design was created in Gimp and it took me a while to decide how the BBQ grill should look. The porterhouse steak and flames are real images from photos. I used chrome for the grill, handles, and support ring. Above the grill is the text CAN'T HELP IT THE GRILL CAN'T HELP IT surrounded by music notes. Since I can't read or write music the notes are random .

Patriotic Business Cards with Bald Eagles and State Flags

It's been a bit slow lately but I have added several Patriotic Business Cards to my Zazzle shop. They include Bald Eagles and States. The state designs have the State flags overlayed onto the state maps. Two of the Bald Eagles have the American Flag overlayed on them and appear to be the color of their feathers. Both are the same eagle but one with a blue sky and the other with black. God will I'll have more states added soon.

Each card is very customizable. Add your personality to create an entirely new card or leave as is and just add your business information. They can be printed on front and back as well.
